Imagin colour eReader hands on

15 sept

Imagin are better known for making digital photo frames, but the company’s venturing into new territory with the Imagin colour eReader. It’s a 5-inch number which promises to let you read books without the glare, and even watch videos too.

The screen is a curious sleight of hand: it’s actually regular TFT, but it’s only slightly backlit, giving a crude sense of reading a full colour eInk display, or a Mirasol panel. It’s not all that bad at it either, so long as you look at it straight on: we’d certainly prefer to read on it than on a cheap Android tablet.
